I feel sweet pain in the romantic gutter blasts of Bukowski and the passionate
movements of the Beats and other rebel angels. Rilke frees me in his wanderings
and Mary Oliver offers the simplicity of natures with her contemplative
eye. William Stafford reminds me of the strength of gentleness and spiritual
depths rise to the surface being with Rumi, Hafiz, Sappho and Yeats. And
Lu Chi shares his wisdom like only a poet warrior can.
What we attend to is what we love.
I give attention to poetry and the craft of writing.
