I hope you enjoyed Thanksgiving and that you have a restful and wonderful holiday season! Unfortunately, many people I know have trouble during the holidays—some would love to duck the deal altogether. As a reminder about the real possibility for “The Family Season” I am pleased to pass on an essay entitled “Unconditional Love” written by Svaroopa Yoga founder Rama Berch (Adobe PDF format).

The theme for the Men’s Meditation Group, which commences the winter session January 26, is Yoga’s yamas and niyamas, which provide solid ground for personal inquiry and guidance about ethical living.

In addition, please take a look at www.arjunaconference.com web site. Ladies…the conference makes a wonderful x-mass gift for a man you love…husband, brother, father, son, uncle, colleague or friend. Do please pass the link on to men who you feel might be open to healing with other men, and guys register early, as the conference will fill up quickly now that we are promoting it to a larger audience.

May you enjoy a light heart throughout the holidays.

Blessings of peace
Sean Casey LeClaire

GRATITUDE LIST

There are only two kinds of prayer: thank you and help.

I have never had a bad day when I’ve been grateful, and I have never had a good day when I’ve been ungrateful. Recently I asked two of my teachers what was a sign of spiritual maturity. They both said acceptance of everything—gratitude for what is. As the year begins to turn, I want to offer a prayer of thanks… For my breath being slow and easy, for my mind’s ability to go inward into deeper dimensions of being, for the people who continue to bother me so I get to see where my work is, for the Body-Centered Breaks (BCBs) I do every day, for supportive friends, for being able to choose to slow down. And thank you to Susan Batson and Lisa Dalton for their teachings in the craft of acting, to Michelle for her willingness to stay “in the dance,” to my son Beau for his awe-inspiring energy and wildness of spirit, to my sister and nephews for hosting our grand summer adventure, to the older woman on that street corner in New York who shared 90 seconds with me gazing in awe at an architectural wonder, to May Sarton for her teachings on the writer’s life, to Lara for her courage and curiosity as a young writer, to Patrick Thornton and Tony Pelusi, for their commitment to the purpose behind the men’s Arjuna Conference, to Jan Frazier for being awake, to Father Austin Fleming for so tenderly tending to his flock, to Maureen and Michelle… mothers who nurture what grows, to Sarah and George for giving Beau a solid sense of family life, to Renee for introducing me to Sue and Angie at 3D Leadership, to the Global Coaching Group from Germany for bringing me onboard with Adidas, and to every coaching client and meditation student who courageously seeks a deeper dimension of their being and continues to follow their own star. To my mother and father for teaching me what is truly important, to Debrah Rafael for reminding me to continue to seek like-minds, to Cindy Murphy for her consistent service, to Rama Berch for her dedication to the teachings, to the great Siddha Yogis and Gurus… may we all know their full Realization, and to the carpenter’s Son.

Thank you.

POEM

What I Place on the Altar of my Life

Stones
Gathered in the sweet soil of time

Sunset
Lulled by its rhythm and rest

Silver
Shaped by an Iroquois chief

Sandalwood
Boxed fragrance of infinite good

Son
Swaddled gift of innocence

Quartz
Sharpened lessons of grief

Angels
Seated on three sunflower seeds

Companion
Delighted by the depth of her longing

Candle
Carved by a cluster of white bees

Christ
For his heart is my heart…open

What do you place on the altar of your life?

INQUIRY

What would it take for me to invite a homeless person into my home for a shower and a meal over the holidays?

WONDERING

When I mess up and cause harm to another, does it help the other to further harm myself with internal trash-talking for messing up?
